An image of a girl holding what looks like a liquor bottle is being shared with the claim that the picture depicts a JNU student. In the image, one can also see two packets of cigarettes placed on the table right next to the girl. Posting the image, Twitter user Ravinar opined, …

Next time you cry about "lawlessness" in the country, remember how you turned your backs on students getting beaten up for protesting fee hike. Remember how you sided with the establishment in their attempt to make education inaccessible to the poor.

When taxpayers money is spent on Public Universities, the less privileged can at least dream of a chance of a good education. When it is spent on statues instead, dreams die in the deification of the dreamless
@sanjayuvacha Political class has always kept this well scripted. Keep the less privileged education less, dream less. Makes it much easier to keep them under the thumb.

It's you who have failed this country and not the students. You promised but never lived upto the highest values of Journalism. Don't place too much on their shoulders. They are already fighting their good fight.
You do your job Instead of questioning their stance. We shall see, very well, what changes you are willing to incorporate in the coming days. The question is actually, on You!

How about not endorsing the views of politicians who have called students 'insects crawling out of drain' How about treating them equally as a human first.
Before, questioning students who are fighting for their educational rights, trying to save academia from clutches of corporates & private players.
It's the media who should ponder on it's own state, whether they wish to act as watchdog or lapdog of privileged & twice-born.

Some people in media fraternity feel that the suspicion & mistrust, students of JNU have of the media stems from how they have been demonized in the past years. Is there possibility of a dialogue between both.
I have few things to say in this regard.
Now that media has shown intentions to change, some might be having a genuine willingness, I am sure about it. How about not building a falsified narrative around students, labeling them 'anti national' or urban naxals.
