I have read Langston Hughes, but until today, I never saw him perform.

And wow! Absolutely dynamite stuff! Earlier today, I talked about how hip hop could be perceived as a subgenre of jazz, and Langston Hughes demonstrates this right here.

But also, now I know where all those Beat poets got their technique. They didn't create it by themselves. Langston Hughes clearly did it before Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg.
