My least favorite game is clicking back and forth between Discord servers trying to find the messages I haven't read until the god damn dots go away.

Boost: I want other people to see this post.

Like/Favourite: I want the author to know that I value this post.

Bookmark: I want to remember / see follow ups to this post.

Unfollow: I don't want to see this person's posts unless someone else boosts them, or they mention to me.

Mute: I don't want to see this person's posts (temporarily or otherwise).

Block: I don't want that person to interact with my posts, or to see theirs.

Even though this is a nice development, I'm pretty disappointed in the resources directed at Linux support. I'm considering dropping Proton soon.

People want it for torrenting or hosting things to the outside world. /c/Piracy has been flipping out because Mullvad removed port forwarding, which now apparently makes them one of the worst VPNs ever.

Mullvad (and I’m sure others) removed it because individuals have frequently used this feature to host undesirable content and malicious services. They simply do not want the kinds of things that users were hosting, passed through their servers as it has led to police visits, blacklisting and providers cancelling them.

Today we announce that we no longer support port forwarding. New port forwards will no longer be supported, and existing ports will be removed 2023-07-01.

I see the old “too many people are going to university to do Mickey Mouse degrees” trope is doing the rounds again. My son did a degree in Comedy Writing and Performance. Did he get a job in the creative industries? No. Is he earning a good salary? Also no. But he was greatly enriched by studying something he was passionate about for three years. What is wrong with just learning for learning’s sake? Education is not supposed to be merely a mechanism for churning out workers
