I had COVID over New Year’s and finally tested negative 1/2/23. I have not had a solid full meal since Christmas week. My post covid symptoms involve an absence of appetite, lack of hunger signals, and reduced sense of thirst. The act of eating is incredibly unpleasant the sensation of chewing food is uncomfortable and I have all sorts of weird food aversions including meat and salt. I’m struggling and failing at adequate nourishment and I’m experiencing a lot of symptoms of malnutrition.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) began monitoring Martin Luther King, Jr., in December 1955, during his involvement with the Montgomery bus boycott, and engaged in covert operations against him throughout the 1960s. FBI director J. Edgar Hoover was personally hostile toward King, believing that the civil rights leader was influenced by Communists. This animosity increased after April 1964, when King called the FBI “completely ineffectual in resolving the continued mayhem and brutality inflicted upon the Negro in the deep South” (King, 23 April 1964). Under the FBI’s domestic counterintelligence program (COINTELPRO) King was subjected to various kinds of FBI surveillance that produced alleged evidence of extramarital affairs, though no evidence of Communist influence.

I'm enjoying mastodon so far but wow, all the comments about how white it is are extremely right. Almost all the other trans folks I've found have been white, and I know that isn't representative of the real world or even likely mastodon as a whole. I'd love to hear more from trans and queer POC (and POC all up, I've just been connecting with a LOT of trans folks).
Can anyone boost this to help me find more voices to listen to? Or recommend some hashtags? I don't even know how best to tag this.

On Jan 1, 2023, a New Year’s Day drag show in Lakeland, FL went down unopposed. In early December Natsoc Florida (a hard Nazi group) had protested another show at the same venue while potential defenders were busy in Ft Lauderdale counterprotesting a Moms4Liberty/Proud Boys/”Gays against Groomers” anti-trans rally. This time defenders were ready, as they were on Dec 15 at another venue in Lakeland.
Both on Dec 15 2022 and on New Year’s Day Jan 2023, the fascists and their Christian Nationalist friends were nowhere to be found. A Proud Boy was seen somewhere in Tampa, a plumber’s truck with Jesus stuff written on it was parked at the back of a driveway across the street, and a cop’s laptop inside his car had the Christian fish sticker on it, but that was IT. No protesters, no Proud Boys pretending to be bumblebees in their black and yellow drag, nothing.
