Scott MatterI get why people are angry and critical of this level of expense and extravagance while so many are suffering.
But also, that’s the whole point of this ostentatious display. It’s to assert a claim that this man and his family are superior to the rest of us. It’s to demonstrate that while none of us could afford it, and many can barely afford the stay housed and fed, this family has more wealth than we can imagine, even after practically burning vast amounts of it on a ridiculous pageant.
