Successful installation of the new FURUNO-WR110 LOXX Doppler #weatherradar at El Tiro
(79.1443415°W; 3.9868748°S, altitude 2840 m asl) by staff from #UTPL and RESPECT.
Operation will start as soon as the power situation in #Ecuador allows it.

Despite the persistently difficult situation with months of severe #drought and daily power cuts of up to 12 hours in #ecuador the GUAXX #radar could be switched on again. This was made possible by the installation of 16 new backup batteries and a UPS, which should guarantee an operating reliability of 6-7 hours.
