Progressive living in a rural community. My neighbors are a mystery to me.
Today’s poem is called ‘Slow Puncture’.
@gottalaff.bsky.social the pictures look beautiful to me.
“What should we do about rich people taking advantage of free services they don’t need?”

Tax them. Duh.

Everything
Afforded a
Person to
Believe they
Exist was denied
Me, and still
I persist.

Picard management tip: Don't just be yourself. Be the best version of yourself. Recall who you were on your best day. Be that person again.

Marco Rubio on Monday: “Imagine an Iran that, instead of spending their wealth, billions of dollars, supporting terrorists or weapons, had spent that money helping the people of Iran.”

Donald Trump on Wednesday: “It’s not possible for us to take care of day care, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things… We have to take care of one thing: military protection. We have to guard the country.”

Irony is dead.

“We just want what everyone else has, which is just regular, mundane lives, and so what I want everyone to do is to stop allowing the people that have made the lives of gender-expansive people miserable … to have the power that they have over us.” https://www.texasobserver.org/fathers-trans-nonbinary-kids/

@GottaLaff I appreciate you.
Pelicans are reclaiming a Louisiana island that very nearly vanished. The Houma Navigation Canal Bird Island near Cocodrie had shrunk so badly that less than one-third of its area still offered nesting habitat, but a $40 million restoration has made nearly 100% of the island usable for waterbirds again, at the same time as giving south Louisiana one more line of defence against storm surges. A rebuilt Louisiana island is providing a home for the state bird. 'A win-win.'

The revitalization of the remote island restores a key nesting area for scores of waterbirds, including Louisiana's state bird, the brown pelican.
