My aggressive French strategy proves victorious! Le nouveau monde appartient à la france ! A rematch is brewing…
9 card 1212 Las Navas de Tolosa. My opponent’s superior ability to manage the small action deck allowed his Christian army to control the territory needed to defeat Al-Nasir & I as we tried to retain our empire on the Iberian Peninsula.
@wetlir @fredserval @DrCrossbows I learned to play by watching Stuart crush Fred as well. Thanks guys!
Nail biter in Vienna 1683! Victory was determined on the last card play of the game. The Habsburg capital holds against the Ottoman’s siege. Good times! I can’t wait for the rematch! #HexesForever
Attempted to bring a non-wargamer into the fold with Freeman’s Farm 1777. I was moderately successful in that pursuit, but had a lot of fun along the way!
@Volko @pijus I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately I don’t have an opponent who will tolerate a “long” game. 3 hours is about the limit. If I recall correctly I think you enjoy Crusader Rex. Is 3 hours a realistic timeframe to get this played?
@pijus This looks great, but I recall thinking it played a bit long. How much time for the full game? Thanks!
@theplayersaidgrant Hoping to get this played over Christmas!
@jefe Celles is a favorite, but I haven’t played it in a few years. I’ve been eyeballing the Bulge game by Dan Fournie and Worthington. The reprint should be available soon. It didn’t jump out at me initially, but it’s received many positive reviews and recommendations. I always appreciate something that plays quickly. Do you have any experience with it?
@pushingcardboard @wetlir @Pete @draft13 I agree about the sniper & motar. The machine gunner’s suppress action isn’t sexy, but that’s what I think I should have used in this scenario to keep my riflemen alive.
