This is hilarious. It appears that Twitter is DDOSing itself.

The Twitter home feed's been down for most of this morning. Even though nothing loads, the Twitter website never stops trying and trying.

In the first video, notice the error message that I'm being rate limited. Then notice the jiggling scrollbar on the right.

The second video shows why it's jiggling. Twitter is firing off about 10 requests a second to itself to try and fetch content that never arrives because Elon's latest genius innovation is to block people from being able to read Twitter without logging in.

This likely created some hellish conditions that the engineers never envisioned and so we get this comedy of errors resulting in the most epic of self-owns, the self-DDOS.

Unbelievable. It's amateur hour.

@christianselig can you push an update to fix crashing since they disabled the API early, so people can still get their wallpapers

I wanted to address Reddit's continued, provably false statements, as well as answer some questions from the community, and also just say...

This interview just further proves that Spez has no idea what he is talking about. How a company so loved, to having worse and worse PR every day is insane to me. How did anyone ever think this guy deserved or was even smart enough to be CEO?

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman: Reddit ‘was never designed to support third-party apps’

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman tells The Verge that he’s fine that some of Reddit’s most-beloved third-party apps are shutting down, claiming they didn’t add value to the platform and were “subsidized” by other users.
