Developers landscaped this Sac Valley city with trees chosen for spring and fall color, and all of our flowering pear trees are blooming right now, while actual snow is a possibility. Hoping the blossoms survive the storm for a few more days!

Very sad. But what a life well lived (and still living). Pure class. https://www.cartercenter.org/news/pr/2023/statement-on-president-carters-health.html #jimmycarter

I haven’t seen comparable documentation for rivers, but the river ice-cover season is considerably shorter than for lakes. It takes a lot more deep freeze temps to get solid ice over flowing water.

MPCA, DNR: Minnesota’s lake ice season decreased by up to 14 days due to climate change

Climate change is chipping away at Minnesota’s winter ice, according to data by the MPCA and DNR. On average, the state has lost 10 to 14 days of lake ice over the past 50 years.

Next time you're using one of those soggy paper straws, remember that over 200 private jets took off immediately after the Super Bowl. That's the same carbon emission as 3,000 commercial fights.* Private jets should be illegal. Every celebrity who flies in one knows exactly what they're doing, and doesn't give two shakes.
