Carolyn Bryant, the woman who got Emmet Till lynched, has died.

Anyone who thinks Emmett Till being lynched in 1955 is ancient history should remember that 18 current members of Congress are older than him and the white woman Carolyn Bryant who got him lynched just *today* died—and that without any accountability whatsoever.

In short, this systemic racism and racial terror against Black people is not ancient history. It's not even history.

It's contemporary reality.

Given MAGAs mockingly label Any diversity & representation as “WOKE,” the “Go Woke Go Broke” slogan is especially stupid because:
•Gender diverse executive teams outperform their peers by more than 20% (McKinsey & Co)
•Ethnically diverse executive teams are 33% more likely to lead their industry in profitability (Harvard Biz Review)
•Women, immigrants, & BIPOC run 4 of Top 10 Silicon Valley firms (Forbes)

Literally, objectively, & quantitatively—the best way to NOT “go broke,” is to stay woke.

Annual Deaths in America from:
•Alcohol: 140,000
•Tobacco: 480,000
•Marijuana: 0

The pearl clutching over marijuana legalization & decriminalization is not grounded in facts—but in fear mongering propaganda & racial injustice that arrests Black people 3.7X more than white people, despite similar rates of use.

This isn’t said often enough: Vladimir Putin is a murderous thug whose genocidal war against Ukrainians should lead to his prosecution and conviction for war crimes. That this will not happen anytime soon and likely ever is intolerable.
DO NOT TOUCH would probably be a really unsettling thing to read in braille.
It is perplexing how so many people are excited for Artificial Intelligence yet seemingly do not care much about the very intelligent beings all around them. Spending just 30min learning about how we treat animals or what the state of biodiversity is, will shock & change anyone.
Protocols, not platforms. That we let ourselves get suckered into platforms over protocols is one of the biggest unforced errors in the history of the net, and if Musk makes that widely obvious, it will be a significant silver lining in his sophomoric conflagration.

Son: "You didn't have YouTube or Minecraft when you were a kid? What did you do?"

*flashback to peeling dried glue off my hand*

Me: "Stuff."

Feasible.
