Writer, translator, publisher — and reader. FI, EN, NL, SV and counting. Discord: Stoori#0446. http://luojola.fi/
Planning my next #velopunk novel, I'm looking for inspiration by reading the nonfiction books Imaginary Cities by Darran Anderson and How cycling can save the world by Peter Walker. https://bookwitty.social/media/bz0E7Pph2x0XwaRMKmQ
Now that I've mailed my submission to a writing contest, I can use the rest of the day by reading a book (or two).
My reading challenge for 2017: 17 books from authors whose names I can't pronounce (without consulting source material). In #Finnish: http://luojola.fi/mika-se-nimi-olikaan/ https://bookwitty.social/media/c2GrNlt7UD3qFKtYRTU

Oh how I would love to have a website which could recommend me #books — and whose recommendations would actually work!

I've been using #Goodreads for years, but one of the features I would most love there is one of the worst: recommendations. They just don't work. They're total bullshit, based on commercial ends more than on artistic attributes of books.

I want working recommendations. Do you know where to get them? And algorithmically, so that they won't run out.

Do you know what is a Cat's Choice™? Well I'll tell you.

1. You pick five random unread #books from your shelf.
2. You arrange them next to each other on a table or floor.
3. You wait for a #cat to spot one of the books (obviously you need a cat to do this).
4. You read the cat's chosen #book.

So, what good #books have you read lately?

Looking at my own read list, the only book I've given at least four stars this year has been Niina Hakalahti's Lumilinna https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30308234-lumilinna (sorry, it's only in Finnish).

And before that there's Tom Spanbauer's The Man Who Fell In Love With The Moon (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10799908-mies-joka-rakastui-kuuhun), which I read in Finnish in December.

No five-star books lately, damn it!

Hello everyone on #BookwittySocial! This is my side account (mainly using @Stoori), and I'm on this instance to talk about #books.
