I think "modern-day Henry Ford (derogatory)" is going to be how I reference Musk from now on

Vaporware King Elon Musk's xAI is Basically Just a 2023 Version of Microsoft's Tay

His issue with OpenAI's ChatGPT is that it's too "woke," so naturally, Musk is setting out to create a "non-woke" AI.

The Present Age
Right wing influencers are convinced the Instagram Threads logo is the mark of the devil
The future of microblogging social media: everyone posting on their preferred platform to complain about some other new entrant into the microblogging social media market that people are buzzing about and which people who are comfortable with their existing choice don't want to bother with.

So now guess what? Elon's space junk is screwing up radio astronomy too.

Anybody surprised?

And the plan is to let him launch 30,000 of these monstrosities!

As a climate scientist who has warned about the threat of climate change for decades, I think the fact that we just saw what was probably the hottest day in recorded history, and probably in thousands of years, is deserving of attention...

@Mattmaber @cdevroe I expect it to be a different tool with a different purpose. Mastodon is likely to remain more niche, but hopefully somewhat devoid of influencers and other such trash.
@rodhilton @unabogie I think people are often just a little too keen to assume genius when in actual fact he's just a wildly incompetent narcissist.
The Reddit AMA as we know it is dead. "The decade-old team of moderators running Reddit AMAs (short for “Ask Me Anything”) are hanging up their boots and will no longer organize the popular Q&As. [They] think Reddit’s poor site management is beyond repair." https://qz.com/reddit-amas-r-iama-protest-api-changes-steve-huffman-1850600843

@w7voa The expected *annual* exposure to individuals from this plan is an amount you would get on an international flight roughly every 1-3 seconds.

Pretty easy to understand why this was approved.

@joenelson62 @w7voa No. The IAEA aren't known for playing fast and loose. The exposure expected from this plan is almost unimaginably tiny.
