If you’ve never been persistently stalked or threatened so badly over the internet that you had to have the extremely big fun(tm) experience of finding somewhere else to stay, and sitting in an interview room trying to explain the nuances of social media to the totally non-techy local police to try to get ahead of incoming SWATing, or explaining what’s happening to your family because they’re going to hear horrible lies about you and are now unsafe too, or asking your employer to put legal holds on grotesque and defamatory attempts to get you fired, I’m truly really, massively happy for you.
I have, and it is a truly humiliating, scary, and miserable experience. It impacts your whole life - and in my case that was with resources and very understanding family and friends (and being very well armed). I feel so incredibly badly for the ex-Twitter folks who are being targeted by incomprehensible quantities of genuinely unstable people. There’s so little recourse. And every step you take to try to keep your job and not be hurt or killed requires you to look at the abusive material and threats over and over again.

When I ban racist of other extremely nasty people I tend to send them a message with the ban 
Often I am sure they don't like it very much but that's my way of having some final fun with nasty people 
Or when it's pedophiles I scare the shit out of them with something like: "Your IP and email has been send to Interpol"
