As a human rights lawyer who has done extensive immigration work, let me make something absolutely clear.

Asylum is legal immigration.
There's no "port of entry" requirement.
There's no "visa" requirement.
There's no "first country" requirement.
You enter the United States, and you apply for asylum.

Because asylum is legal immigration. Period.

Period.

"We need to reclaim (symbol X that Nazis use)! I'm gonna use it & take it back!"

Allow me to explain how different folks will react.

Nazis: "that guy is signaling that he supports Nazis! Yay!"

Marginalized people who are in danger from Nazis: "That guy is signaling that he supports Nazis! I'm in danger!"

People who know the symbol is used by Nazis: "Ew. That guy is signaling that he supports Nazis."

Literally no one: "Wow! What a brave guy, using a symbol Nazis use when he's not one!"

The new ~$850 billion defense budget would direct billions of taxpayer dollars to private contractors.

Let's call this what it is: a massive redistribution of wealth to the military-industrial complex.

This is while nearly two-third of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Elon claims journalists endangered his kid

That never happened

Trump claims the election was stolen

That never happened

DeSantis claims Black voters voted illegally

That never happened

Lies are the currency of the Republican Party

“I’m going to stay and fight”

No you’re not. It isn’t a battleground. It is owned by one man who will do what he likes as long as he can and he’s able to continue to do so because you are creating statistics he is using to sell ad space and make it look like the platform is more active than ever.
