Wow. I had not realised I'd not been on here since May last year. I am now much more active on https://bsky.app/profile/slartyb.bsky.social In the mean time, here is a drawing I'm working on.

Artistic uber-geek with a passion for astronomy, electronics, and .. well pretty much anything else really. @ NVIDIA. Opinions my own.
Oh .. my .. goodness! I wasn't expecting much, but the #aurora tonight was SPECTACULAR!! Could see the colours as well with my eyes, but they were definitely there. It filled half the sky!
@aka_pugs That's incredible! I've never seen a Cray-1 block diagram. It's a real eye-opener! 1972!! Hardly seems possible at that time. Thanks for posting.
@ilneill Very cool! I had to look up the AD9833 - I was not aware of that chip. Block diagram is almost identical to the FPGA I designed for my waveform generator. I added a bunch of features like AM modulation & multi-phase output, which means you can do cool things like circular sweeps on a 'scope in X-Y mode. What are you going to do with yours?
Lucky toad. I was digging in my garden and almost impaled this toad on my garden fork, then almost squashed it when I picked it up thinking it was a round pebble! Put it out of harms way and covered it with soil again. It then popped out one eye so it could keep a lookout.
