@infobeautiful I don't think there is a single UK NHS, rather 4 separate services for the 4 nations. From the logo, looks like this one is NHS England (where prescriptions are not free for many people, though cost less than £25)
@EUCommission The correct way to say what you are trying to say is "Fewer online scams", not "Less online scams"

Young people aged 16–21 are reminded to apply for a free mytravelpass to benefit from £1 bus fares when the pilot starts on 1 September. Single fares will cost just £1, with £3 day tickets offering unlimited travel on participating services. The mytravelpass must be shown to the driver as proof of age and can be applied for at the mytravelpass website. Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North #Wales, Ken Skates, said the scheme will help young people across Wales access work, education and leisure more affordably. He urged those without a pass to apply in time. £15m will support the £1 fare for 16–21-year-olds over two financial years (2025–26 and 2026–27) as part of the Budget agreement with Welsh Lib Dem Leader Jane Dodds. An additional £7m will extend the scheme to children aged 5–15 from 3 November. Full details are available on the mytravelpass website.

@rspfau I was mainly venting, but suggestions very welcome, thank you. I have set out some more detail in a separate series of toots just now. I saved the iso file onto a usb drive and changed the boot order and disabled secure boot in my bios, but it still boots to #windows. Same result when I try from an internal DVD drive.
@geillescas Yes, I tried with both a new usb drive and a new DVD disk.
@tuttsi I relied mainly on this one: www.linuxmint-installation-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest
