@tilton it is the machine that rewards lazy incuriosity and that kind of anti-intellectualism is rather MAGA-esque as well. “My inexperience is as good as your expertise.”
@tilton for me it’s the charlatanism of it. I don’t pretend to be an artist. A filmmaker. An author. I certainly have made my own art, videos, and write. But I do not ascend to professionalism in those disciplines. So I don’t come out and claim I am among them.
I am a software engineer. I worked hard to learn and perform this skill. And now “everyone can code.” Except they can’t. They can make the machine spit an output and the charlatans can now pretend they are like me.

@TTimo not my first choice personally but for a set and forget I can’t think of anything better than Kubuntu LTS or OpenSUSE Leap 16 which defaults to KDE
