#xdc2024 is a wrap. Didn’t know what to expect when I went. It was fun and I’m glad I did it, and that it was close enough to travel to. It was also my first time in Montréal, so I had lots of fun exploring.

In music we have arpeggios. In computers we have the descending jpeggio, where the quality gets worse the further you get into the picture.

The news that Alyssa wrote a Vulkan 1.3 driver got me to install Asahi on my Mac, finally. I built her branch and it runs my little renderer just fine. Incredible!

Also the Asahi Linux experience is surprisingly solid. When I first looked into it it seemed only good enough as a passing curiosity, but I think now that it’s good enough to be a daily driver. I’m over the moon. #asahi #vulkan

IRC is such a breath of fresh air. I miss genuine good features of modern clients, like code snippets, but almost all the rest can easily be ditched.

Out of curiosity, now that you have essentially re-implemented a project with it... what's your opinion on Zig? Worthwhile? Better than C? Something else?
