Liberating books! #librarygeeking

The Internet Archive has scanned thousands of books that have not gotten the date set via metadata matching, which means we dont know which are public domain... (1927 is coming up on Jan 1!)

so... now I have a command line to find candidate public domain books by grep'ing the full text for "Copyright 19XX" for xx between 00 and 27.

Now we have to QA, update, and liberate!

I have about 5000 followers on Twitter.

When I used to post polls there, I'd get about 50-100 responses. 1-2% response rate*.

I have about 3.3k followers here.

When I post polls here, I get about 500-1000 respondents.

15-30% response rate*.

I'm not sure why. People here follow fewer people than over there, so my polls seem like a bigger deal in their timelines?

Or the lack of algorithmic sorting?
