Erinnert mich sehr an die Worte von Herrn #Merz, was ich da gerade las: „Ich empfand das als Unglück, selbst wenn es unvermeidlich und notwendig war. Doch dem Unglück haben wir uns zu stellen; [...] den Kopf in den Sand zu stecken ist niemals eine angemessene Reaktion.“

Allerdings lauten die beiden Sätze davor: „Und jetzt würden wir sie töten. Und es war nicht zu leugnen, wir töteten viele Menschen.“ Erinnert vom fiktiven SS-Obersturmführer Aue im Roman „Die Wohlgesinnten“ von Jonathan Littell.

Found it in the seemingly oldest and most cramped second hand book store ever (like ever!) around Camden Lock Market (I believe).
