Cruciverbalist, with a side-order of boardgame design. He/Him.

My problem with this record is that I heard Rory Bremner's splendid "N-N-Nineteen Not Out" first, and had no idea it was a parody. (And TIL that Hardcastle himself was involved.)

Yeah, well, look how the LibDems got screwed with that one. (TBH, they didn't really understand either the power they had or the fate that inevitably awaited them as a junior partner if the system didn't change.) But it's also true that the situation has changed drastically since 2010 and if Labour or the Tories want to survive, they will need to do it.

As a Brit, I (sadly) agree with all of this. Our best trick as a collapsing Empire was the "draw a line on a map and then run away (preferably with valuable stuff), knowing that the locals will be distracted by fighting each other and won't notice who was actually responsible" one. We did it all over the place.

Hey, never mind the hallway, what's with that carpet?! It's like some weird video rhythm game (or maybe "the vortex" from the old BBC show The Adventure Game.)
@LeahPrice @golgaloth
That feels like an understatement!

I wonder which lawyers are currently making a packet working out who owns the various assets. Because I'm damn sure the Tories don't want Nigel Farage's private company to just get "their stuff" by default, whether or not they want to merge at a political level.
@mitch
I wonder who did this first? UK comic Dave Gorman did a big chunk of one of his tv shows in around 2016 or so that was built around this concept too.

I have occasionally found success with asking someone after a playtest to "write the rules". Not in a detailed way, of course, but as the process of turn structure etc. that they remember. It can be very helpful and sometimes hilarious. (Obvs. you have to find someone who is willing to do this!)

Classic example of someone I thought I was already following - but only because so many people kept boosting! (Now rectified.)

Yup, I was distressed that this usage had seemingly died out.
