I have occasionally found success with asking someone after a playtest to "write the rules". Not in a detailed way, of course, but as the process of turn structure etc. that they remember. It can be very helpful and sometimes hilarious. (Obvs. you have to find someone who is willing to do this!)
@Scurra Is anyone willing to do anything? Back in my past, all the same. All the time I "worked with a partner", I did everything and the person did nothing.
