I'm in design professionally and have been 100% Linux and FOSS for a while now.

For most graphics work I use Krita. It does almost everything I need.

For vectors I use Inkscape, including if I want text for Krita, until its new text tool releases.

For UI & web design tasks I use PenPot.

For video editing I use Kdenlive, though I'm also starting to tinker with Blender Power Sequencer.

IMO there are only 3 things still really hard to do on Linux. Print, motion, and collab via closed formats.

If you’re still posting on Twitter then you’re actively helping a fascist achieve his goal of controlling the information so he can bend it how he wants.

So, Elon Musk reinstates Flynn on Twitter on the 2 year Anniversary of Jan 6.

He fires people in Twitter Brazil in charge of moderation, ie keeping an eye on inciting violence, etc.

On the day after Brazil insurrection he reinstates Ali Alexander, yes the "stop the steal" a**hole who is partly responsible for the Jan 6 insurrection.

He's not trying to hide what he's up to.

He's stoking the flames of fascism and violence.

Elon Musk is a terrorist.

Have you heard that almond milk uses loads of water, so is really bad for the environment?

Or that rainforests get chopped down to grow your soy beans for that soy milk?

These are distortions of the truth, designed to make cow’s milk sound better without actually using evidence. See the photo, and read on, a thread 🧵 #vegan

If you’re outraged about Adobe sending your pictures off their servers (you should be), please know other vendors do this too. That horse has already bolted.

Eg Microsoft Edge automatically sends your key presses in Edge to MS - enabled by default https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/how-to-disable-writing-assistance-via-group-policy/td-p/3648422

Microsoft Office 365 sends every photo and screenshot you add in Word, PowerPoint etc (including in emails) to Microsoft 365 Intelligent Services without prompt https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/everything-you-need-to-know-to-write-effective-alt-text-df98f884-ca3d-456c-807b-1a1fa82f5dc2

How to disable writing assistance via Group Policy

Hello,   new Edge version 106 has got settings "Use writing assistance". I look for matching settings in group policy for Edge but with not succes. I use the latest adml and admx files.  Group setting Disable spellcheck will help but only for Edge 104 (and lower). Edge 106 has replaced settings Spel...

Okay, we know... We made fun of Adobe when its cloud service went down. We've made fun of Corel Painter and Clip Studio. We joined in the protest No AI Generated Images protest. We made our stance on NFT's clear. But this is beyond making fun of. This is EW! EW! EW!

#COVID19 is real.
Kids get infected.
Kids spread COVID.
The pandemic has never been “over.”
Healthy, young adults can get severe disease.
Long COVID is real.
Long COVID isn't “rare” or “imagined.”
You can get COVID multiple times.
Herd immunity is a myth.
Ivermectin doesn't work.
It's not just an acute illness “like the flu.”
Masks work.
Vaccines work.
Vaccines aren't dangerous.
We can't “live with COVID” by merely ignoring it.
We can't protect lives by relying on “personal responsibility.”

To every person who’s posting some kind of 2022 year-in-review with any version of: oh I’m so happy 2022 was the year the pandemic ended / we got to travel again / things went back to normal…

Ok, listen. First, the pandemic is not over. It’s as bad as ever. People are NOT safe unmasked, indoors, in public — they are simply brainwashed into thinking it’s safe to get COVID over & over. (The science is clear it’s not. If you “disagree”, please go look at some recent statistical data.)

Second…
