DeSantis disenfranchised more Black voters than anyone alive and was rewarded for it. It's the duty of all decent people to defy him in any possible way -- but few will be as brave is this man.

A Black professor defies DeSantis law restricting lessons on race

Retired professor Marvin Dunn is challenging the 'anti-woke' education policies of Gov. Ron DeSantis by showing high school students sites of racist events in Florida's history.

My favourite thing about WPATH is that transphobic professionals literally get infinitely more voting power than student members who are actually trans.

I've gotten more active on YouTube the past few months and I'm flabbergasted at how strong the racist movement is on that platform. I don't know how they'll ever recover, but this isn't good for our national safety and progress.

To me its also a reminder of why @alexwinter's documentary "The YouTube Effect" is one everyone should watch. Alex has done a massive service to society, and I encourage all of you to see the documentary. It's excellent and a must watch.

Wow, @pluralistic nailing it in one sentence. A seriously good read.

Today, in grotesque mimicry of Trump's failed coup on January 6, 2021, far-right supporters of previous Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro invaded the National Congress in Brasilia.

Across the world, the far right and fascists are attempting to build the capacity to seize power by force.

Background on the situation in Brazil:

Relying on the state to prevent the far right from coming to power will only strengthen the institutions that they hope to wield against us:

Billionaires and their far-right supporters are attempting to gentrify the concept of revolt itself. We must not let them appropriate or discredit the idea of rebellion:

Left Electoralism, Fascist Direct Action, and Anti-Fascist Resistance

The 2022 elections in Brazil offer a glimpse of the future as the far right reorganizes itself while the institutional left continues to bet on a collapsing social order.

@mimmymum yeah it is essentially an admission of defeat. It is also the first anti-trans legal action by any government since the middle of the last century.

I thought there was something a little fishy about a glowing profile of a conservative Missouri Republican who recently became the majority leader for the state Senate.

Just one person was briefly quoted in dissent to the glowing portrait of a bipartisan compromiser- the leader for the largest LGBTQ+ org in the state. I called Shira Berkowitz, the senior director of public policy and advocacy for PROMO, and asked them to explain what the story I'd read was leaving out.

A profile of Cindy O'Laughlin, who recently became the majority leader in the Missouri state senate demonstrates how a bias favoring compromise and bipartisanship can paper over the stakes for marginalized groups.
