Hello Mastodon friends! #Introduction time…

I study neural networks supporting flexible #Navigation at HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus. Using tractable systems, both biological (flies) and artificial (RNNs), I try to link the structure of neural circuits to their underlying function. In grad school, I studied hippocampal ripples at Caltech, and I love searching for shared operating principles across systems/species.

Here are two of my favorite fly neuron types. Aren’t they beautiful? 🙂

Join us for the next #ESItalks in person with Adrien Peyrache from McGill University, Canada, talking about "One ring to rule them all: origin and function of attractor dynamics in the head-direction system" 🔄 💍

Hi all, I’m very happy to share my new preprint on laminar MEG using high-precision forward models and OPMs: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.08.20.554011v1!

It features comprehensive simulations of OPM-MEG arrays with varying sensor counts, measurement axes, sensor-scalp offsets, and SNRs and aims to provide guidelines on how to successfully infer the laminar origin of cortical sources with OPMs.

#introduction Hi! I’m a postdoc at @ESI_Frankfurt, interested in (#laminar) #MEG, #OPM, in vivo histology (#hMRI), #speech rhythms and open science. I like art, literature and contemporary dance. Happy to have finally made it here!
