@Beedazzled I will try to remember to post about it. :) I do hope most BKAs are able to hold their auctions and other events. It’s such an important part for the associations’ activities and it’s great fun (and useful!) for the beekeepers.
@Beedazzled Yes, we will! It won’t be the usual Saturday due to the coronation, but by only 1 week (I think).
Curious about beekeeping and local(ish) to south Ceredigion? 🐝Why not do a Beginners’ Course in Beekeeping with Teifiside Beekeepers ’Association next year? 🐝 Happy to answer any questions about the course! :)
@samstudio8 Are you sure? and come to think of it - How can you be sure?
@ai6yr Exactly and it would also be nice to be slightly less obvious on the summits if there are are people around, or when chasing in the garden (wonder what the neighbours think!). As a Foundation Licence holder, I'm limited to 10W so anything that helps is great. Plus CW is just cool! :D
@ai6yr I guess it makes sense to have different accounts if you're tooting a lot about each topic.
@ai6yr The invigilator when I sat my Foundation Licence exam told me about SOTA and since I like hiking I was hooked on the idea straight away. I'd vaguely wanted to do CW on HF, but no real plans to me getting my licence. Now I am struggling to get good enough at CW to be able to use that for my activations. Just spent a couple of hours in the lab with #Morse #Ninja's Speed racing top 500 words running throuhg my headphones. :D
@ai6yr @alexmdunne I'v been thinking about setting up a separate account with my callsign, but at the same time I really like the mixture of topics in my timeline (is it called that here?) and it highlights how we've all got different interests. Like finding fellow scientist/beekeepers or hams/beekeepers and so on. :)
I'm really impressed by this lady bringing her #spinning #wheel to #Antarctica, especially reading about all the effort she put into preparing and testing her setup before she left: https://t.co/rPHAgKZ7N4 🐧 ❄️ I usually only manage to squeeze in a ball of #sock #yarn and a set of #DPNs when I go on polar fieldwork. 🧦 🧶 Perhaps I could bring a #spindle and some #fibre next time? 🤔
Spinning an icy yarn in Antarctica

Marion Wheatland has spun her way into Antarctic history in an effort to help conserve history. For six hours the adventurous Canadian-Australian spun wool on the doorstep of Mawson’s Huts at Commonwealth Bay in January this year. She used the …
