My objective is not to recreate twitter as it is now, to broadcast widely every opinion, but to create a network of challenging knowledge and informed debate.
I hope that we could now all move on. I did not come to Mastodon to hear about #elonmusk, to be honest, neither to hear about Mastodon.
Half the people I follow are on social, the other half on econtwitter. Should I migrate to find a google reader like community, or is it not worth the hassle? @owen , @marcfbellemare, @draliceevans, @m_clem
Why do they call "the polluter pays" in the COP27 "loss and damage"? The polluter pays is a simple principle enshrined in a lot of national policies and laws.

The ideology of constant growth destroys the ecological foundations of life, produces alienating ways of living and working, gives rise to undemocratic productive forces, and mismeasures our lives, standing in the way of well-being and equality of all

Impressed with Mastodon so far. Legit seems possible that a critical mass of the people I like to read on Twitter might migrate there.

I see quite a lot of #Science posts expressing concern if The Public will follow their authors' #TwitterMigration over on here.

Here's the thing: they don't even have to. Every #Mastodon account has an #RSS feed. For example, here's mine:
https://mstdn.social/@rysiek.rss

Every hashtag has an RSS feed as well (as seen from a given instance), for example:
https://mstdn.social/tags/Science.rss

Your audiences can follow you without ever setting up an account on fedi, with any RSS reader.

So what is the evidence that persistent single-digit inflation, even in the 5-9% range, is damaging to the real economy, if it is accommodated? Or is the argument that inflation is never stable in that range? What is the evidence for the latter?

@rodrikdani You probably already know this, but the source of 2% sounds a bit like religion to me https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2018/11/30/672366380/episode-879-the-secret-target
