The Boston University School of Public Health is withdrawing from Twitter.

The dean’s thoughtful, nuanced explanation raises the question: Why are other institutions still there?

@rood haha no sane brand but different colours. Just a feat of timing!

A woman a week on average continues to be murdered in Australia.
This is a mens issue.
Almost every woman killed is at the hands of violent men.

So what can we do as men?

Challenge gendered roles. Call out sexism and misogyny whenever we see it. Role model to boys respect for women and girls. Speak out against male violence against women.

I have achieved #domestic perfection & it must be shared. Today after 46 years of dedicated practice, I finished both a bottle of shampoo AND a bottle of conditioner at EXACTLY the same time 🤯 #mindblown #domesticgoddess
@engagedpractx Oh Daniel i'm sorry to hear that. Deep breath friend and a couple more for good measure. You may feel powerless to the past and emotions but this is your therapy journey and you get to call the shots. You don't have dive head first into the hard stuff. You may want a take stock and tip the toe in session ...or you may get there and feel like taking a plunge. It's ok to take all the time you need. This is your life and your therapist is there to support you. Sending hugs

Hey y’all in AusSocial land, we have a new change in instance policy. The rule around CW of party and geo political content will be updated.

CW is still a great option, and allows for more descriptive posting, but new updates to Mastodon 4 allow new opportunities.

As of today, if you are posting about such topics you are only required to use appropriate hashtags such as #AusPol, this will allow people to filter out such things if they choose to, with the new option in settings people can choose to put an auto-warning on them.

If you can’t hashtag appropriately you require a CW.

We hope this makes aus.social a better place for all users as we grow - all other rules and the code of conduct remains in place.

@pandion me either. Apparently very rare. Some say they only flower when stressed and it’s a bad sign, other ‘experts’ say this is a myth as the snake plant thrives on neglect. My big girl looks happy enough, so will just watch this little miracle unfurl and see what happens next!

Imagine you're a visually impaired Mastodon user and your screen reader encounters a post that says something like "A stunning view I saw this morning" or "This is hilarious." But the image is the equivalent of what you see below: a blank. Wouldn't it be frustrating to encounter post after post like that?

Describe images. It's an act of love. Describe them as you would to a dear friend you were talking to on the phone.
