A fancy rat with things to say, but really just likes reading.

Linguam Latinam loqui non possum, sed quaedam legere possum.

Bought what I thought was a bottle of savory. Got home and opened the bottle for a quick sniff. While it smelled good, it didn't smell like savory. Looked at the ingredients and was miffed. It's really poultry seasoning. There's no savory in it! It's just labeled as savory. Id take it back for a refund, but I opened it. I can use it, but it's not what I thought I was buying.
This weekend I made Brother Donnick's Dippin' Soup from Baldur's Gate 3. Things to note:
1.) Easier to use canned tomato puree to skip step 1
2.) 2 tablespoons of brown sugar help to cut the acidity and give some umami
3.) Italian seasoning is a must!
4.) Add a bit of allspice or Worcestershire sauce
5.) Finish with a cup of cream for body
6.) Adding corn starch will also add body of it's too runny

I took the time to make a tamale pie today. I didn't have enchilada sauce, so I had to make that. Then I didn't have creamed corn, so I had to make that too. It smells wonderful! And it's flavored with chipotle chilis.

Mocha cookies. Baked in hope that the smell will be beneficial for an upcoming apartment inspection.

So looking at a recipe, I came across this notice.

The term, "nightshade free," disturbes me. First, unless you're a witch/herbalist, you probably aren't working with nightshade. Second, if you are a witch/herbalist, I'm pretty sure it's generally known that nightshade it's not meant to be consumed. Lastly, if I guess that nightshade refers to tomatoes, who puts tomatoes in a sweet bread pudding made of sugar cookies!?
