I've settled on 'peek' for recording my app demo to GIF. The result will be posted!

Thanks for all suggestions, I tried a few, but peek wins on doing the job I wanted and no messing.

byzanz plus several user created scripts also seems good, but messing!

There's a good list of options here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/107726/how-to-create-animated-gif-images-of-a-screencast

How to create animated GIF images of a screencast?

I've seen animated GIF images of screen casts (like the one below) promoted a few times on this site as a way to improve answers. What toolchain is being used to create these? Is there a program t...

Is there a recommended way to get support from mastodon.

I'm trying to move accounts from mastodon.cloud, have set up an alias on the destination mastodon.technology, but when I activate the transfer, mastodon.cloud says that the destination account "is not back-referencing this account". But it is!

I tried PM to both admins but understandably no response yet.

#mastodon #help #support #admin

Any suggestions for creating an animated terminal demo of my app, an an animated dashboard like htop (I'm using tui-rs)? I want to create a #gif which shows the #dashboard in action.

I'm starting with #terminalizer, but haven't done this before so any suggestions which I can use on #linux would be helpful.

@vinnl yes, that's where I get the error.

Apologies is this is not the way to get support, in which case feel free to re-direct me.

I'm trying to migrate [email protected] to [email protected] and have set up an alias in the latter, but when I try to redirect from [email protected] it says that [email protected] "is not back-referencing this account".

Thanks

@cwebber shiver me timbres, that sounds forny 😂

@raucao in a week? If you really think that, go do it. This guy made £77,000 in a week, and it's because this was seen as exceptional that it was news.

Remember ring tones. People paid lots of money for those because they were locked in, and as soon as that became open (with smart phones) the price dropped and they became free.

@raucao @SAFEpress the example which comes to mind is Linux distros. There's a while world of creativity, not necessarily what *you* value. That isn't my thing so I'd but likely be aware of it if it's there, or on Google play, but if all kinds of stuff which different people with different interests do value.
