Very TL:DR about the magic system: any spell or magical item you use or interact with causes a chance for (temporary) corruption. If your corruption goes over half your threshold, you gain permanent corruption. If the total corruption goes past your threshold, your character is lost.
My two favourite RPGs are Symbaroum and the Dishonored RPG. The former is fantastic for "PC exploring dark and foreboding locations and the price of magic", while the latter is rules-medium with a lot of room for improvisation and adaptation (I have a hack that works excellent for a Bioshock campaign)
This looks awesome! I'm definitely going to use the template to make one relates to TTRPGs, though it falls outside if the scope of "hands-on skills".
