This is a shoutout to anyone who has struggled to master English, Japanese and French, and now finally can say that their whole life led up to this point
mstdn.jp has surpassed mastodon.social in number of users! Congrats to @[email protected]!
Yo yo yo! Remember I promised to write about scaling mastodon.social to 43k users? I did it! https://medium.com/@Gargron/scaling-mastodon-1becde463090

So the question: how to make hubs that are/have

* reliable
* trustworthy
* non-exploitative of users
* non-authoritarian (wrt censorship)
* proxy-able
* graceful failover
* graceful obsolescence
* potentially anonymous
* potentially transient

I think in the absence of these considerations, mastodon networks will, as others like @bcrypt have pointed out, tend to consolidate around a few large instances that will have too much trust & reliability burden placed on them.

@eric @shel It's just a remark on the tootiquette because on the Public Local it's perceived as ads but for sure you can stand by your judgement
@eric @shel Tootiquette required that subject like politics or ads or spam should be marked as CW content
@dragonluvr89 depending of the country you're from you can't get full organic. But meat or eggs from chicken that run outside and veggies with much more less ( difficult to get nothing) toxics on the short and long term can really made the difference for you body but also your brain. Sugar, Salt and flavor enhancers to mask the lack of quality (which they make margins from) have HIGH consequences on your brain.

@dragonluvr89 No because public want uniform glossy flawless vegies but others or the rest of high marges preparation are 'transformed' into soup ... it's what they can't sell otherwise.

Conclusion ? use your blender or buy local production ! you'll get fibers and so satiety -> healthy food. That's why you can eat 3 mac do and still be hungry : no fibers, no satiety :/

@dragonluvr89 It's also the rest of the vegetables can't sold in the complete form
