Applications are now open for the Richard III Society's annual £1,000 Research Bursary.
The bursary supports postgraduate research related to the later medieval and early Tudor period (c. 1399 - 1509) & can be used for expenses. Applicants do not have to be members of the Society.

2 October 1452, the birth of Richard Plantagenet to Cecily Neville and Richard Duke of York at Fotheringhay Castle. He would grow up to be Richard III. In his Book of Hours, now at the Lambeth Palace Library, his birth is noted, possibly in his own hand.
