Many long years ago I wrote a program in GFA BASIC that randomly grabbed the sprites from the Rogue sprite sheet and placed them on the screen. I wanted to add the music from Michael Jackson's Thriller, but I'm not a musician and couldn't manage to do that. Maybe someday I'll figure that out.

This world has me really freaked out lately and I am struggling to make sense of anything. I'm trying to distract myself by making silly programs in BASIC and for a brief time that helps.

Ported my earlier Atari 8bit BASIC program to #AtariST GFA Basic for you know, reasons. Frankly I like the 8bit version better even if the ST's animation is smoother.

@Recta_Pete I am a musician and can help either with MIDI or with converting notes to pitches for the YM2149, if you ever get back to it. Just don’t ask me to do the Thriller dance.

@Recta_Pete Except for the coupla lowercase letters with descenders, we could totally steal the font on the Atari 8-bit. Since they're generally 8px tall, we'd need a blank scanline between text lines. 😈
