Fear the wrath of the empath. It doesn't happen often but when It does happen let me tell you it ain't pretty. They know how to dig deep and twist the knife, have a keen understanding of what motivates others, their vulnerabilities, doubts, insecurities.

Had a loooong chat via text w a former coworker from the hospital lab. She isn't on TwitterX but remains COVID cautious, one of the few, even after having caught it once (recently). Neither of us knows what comes next, both of us feel deeply betrayed by our institutions and even our colleagues. A sense of distrust permeates everything we once believed about our jobs supporting healthcare and public health, there's no going back to that world. #lostintime
