Why More People Should Respect High-Volume Kitchens

@RickiTarr dog tax:

@RickiTarr I love telling the story of our rescue dog.

She was a puppy mill mom in an over-populated farm, and when the owners got wind that animal control was watching them they dumped the dogs out into the back 40 with the "we don't know whose dogs those are" defense, and shot any dogs that tried coming back to the home.

She had just had a litter of puppies; only she and one puppy had survived when animal control did claim them.

My wife adopted her despite the warning she doesn't like children or men -- my reaction was "you got a dog that's gonna hate me?" but she's my best buddy now.

When she arrived at our home she didn't know how to ask to go outside to go potty, but once she figured it out she has been perfect. She, surprising both us and herself, realized she knew the command "sit" and we found that she must've been trained as a puppy but those memories were buried under trauma. We hope those memories are long gone now, replaced by a good ones of her new home.

Remember Segways?

Man, those were the days.

Me: I'm a cool hip artist and in no way and old man

Also me: I'm just gonna watch this documentary about the invention of farm tractors and then take a nap at 11am and then have a turkey sandwich for lunch

@Chrishallbeck Kids with mean parents only know them from the mediciney, metallic vitamins they have to take every day
@dillyd It's worth a try; in my experience as an antique dealer, clay kitty litter and time in bright sunlight are very efficient at destroying smells. What's the odor like -- is it mentholy, or woodsy, or perfumey?

@dillyd The reason that they say Do Not Eat is actually stupider than you think. Silica gel is not harmful or poisonous at all. Because they are often packaged with food, people assume everything in the package is edible. Humans are just to stupid to recognize non-food things and then are upset that these little white balls don't taste good.

(I save these and put them in my camera and lens cases to prevent moisture)

The thing I love about my Instagram feed is that half the people I don't recognize their names or how I know them, it's just cats and vacation photos and weird things they see on their walks, oh and then their Emmy award winning character designs or maybe an on set photo with very famous people or they sold another pilot, and their dog wearing a funny hat and somebody's birthday party. I follow people who aren't famous enough to be required to only market themselves on Instagram but famous enough that I found them in the first place
@LaNaehForaday I hate to agree with the Orange Lump, but the US Army's 250th birthday is this year, June 14th, 1775. We started the military before we declared independence.
The idiot linked to the wrong anniversary page https://www.army.mil/1775/

Since its official establishment, June 14, 1775 — more than a year before the Declaration of Independence — the U.S. Army has played a vital role in the growth and development of the American nation.
