The #conservative male culture I grew up in is honestly so toxic and stupid. It's just a bunch of meatheaded morons having a constant dick-measuring contest while swearing (a bit too emphatically) that they're definitely not gay. I think it's why to this day I prefer female company.

It's so bewildering to me. #Conservative meatheads will walk around with "shoot your local pedophile" merch, but then they'll vote a pedophile into the #Whitehouse the first chance they get. What the fuck. That's just next-level stupid.

I'm not saying my #ADHD is a gift, but I think it was a sort of guardian angel for me growing up in a cult. I would invariably dissociate during the "hellfire and brimstone" preaching, so I never internalized their teaching like my peers, which ultimately made it easier for me to walk away.
