Here is the statement demanding that MoSPI release the 75th Round Consumer Expenditure Survey data. The statement, originally signed by 214 social scientists, was released yesterday. But many more people have expressed their wish to endorse the demand. We have thus decided to put it on change.org so that everyone can sign directly.

Release of 75th Round NSSO Consumer Expenditure Survey Data

There will be many tributes to T N Seshan, who headed the Election Commission when it was proud to be independent. I loved his succinct summary of the fate of nations:

"We lost character everywhere. Fundamental laws of physics: human nature turns to chaos. I will give you a simple example. Don't go to your son's bedroom for 15 days. It will look like a warfield. To make it clean, you need to put in energy. To make it unclean, you don't need any effort. Third law of thermodynamics."

I'm also going to try and NOT repeat my Birdsite content and post it here.

Will have some Mastodon exclusive content which will (hopefully) encourage more people to follow me here from birdsite.

Going to try and actively help with the migration by consistently asking people to follow me here.

Let's try this out, shall we?

OK. So here's the deal:

Friday evening till Monday morning I will exclusively post stuff here.

I'm now going to try and spend my weekends here on Mastodon. Slowly, I hope to increase my presence here and reduce it on Birdsite.

Also, going to actively try and be vocal on Mastodon while treating Birdsite as 'work'. Will use that one mostly for promotional stuff (can't escape that at least at this stage).

@Memeghnad I came here from Twitter a bit over a year ago and that was exactly my feeling. Twitter makes money by keeping people "engaged," and the easiest way to do that is to keep them angry. Here no one benefits from keeping the users angry
Govt to force LIC, SBI & pension funds to invest in stalled housing projects. I mean these fund managers aren't going to take prudent financial decisions for its investors. But throw our money down the drain on the directions of Govt.
