Happy Pride Month! Things are hard right now for many of us, but we still deserve to feel seen and loved for who we really are.
I had a small moment of delight today. I saw a tape — yes, a cassette tape! — on the side of the road with the tape blowing in the wind. It made me realize how common that sight used to be, and how long it had been since I'd seen it. At some point in my past, I saw a broken tape on the road without knowing it would be the last time I'd see one for a decade. And there are probably a million moments like that in life that we never realize.
@RainDragon related to this is one of the things i feel the internet has changed about the art world for the worse: stats and algorithms being the deciding factor, for some, of what makes "good" art

even before the algorithm played a big role, i've seen many folks get burnt out by focusing on the numbers too hard or hammering one type/series of thing to the detriment of other things they've made

also how it becomes too hard for smaller artists to cut through the noise so they stop making/posting stuff altogether, when in reality everyone who goes viral either lucked out, paid their way to the top, or had existing connections that helped them get there

“Bad” art is still enjoyable art.
“Mediocre” art is still enjoyable art.
“Good” art is also enjoyable art, but you don’t have to be “good” at art to share it with others.

When I look at a piece of art, what I’m struck by is the passion and soul of the artist behind it, not the “quality” of the art I get to look at for *free*.

This is true about drawing AND writing AND music, btw.

Driving at night has the benefit of being extremely calming and fun for my nocturnal soul BUT☝️

LED HEADLIGHTS.

I’m currently based in Texas where we have a LOT of Ford F150s and their headlights are bright enough to simulate being personally raptured by white Jesus

FATHER THANK YOU FOR THIS GRAPE
THE BROCCOLI IS ALSO ACCEPTABLE.

> call themselves "conservatives"

> do not want to conserve nature.

Lol very smort

Ever since I started wearing Nintendo shirts more often I’ve become A LOT more popular with small children. Two kids in the park pointed to my Yoshi shirt excitedly exclaiming “Yoshi!” and in the supermarket, one kiddo was so taken by my shirt with multiple characters on it that his parent explained they’d recently gotten a Mario chess set

If you see a post that says
*hey i really like ___

And immediately go to reply:
*unfortunately ___ just isn’t the thing for me
*actually I hate ___
*you should get into this completely unrelated thing it’s way better

Consider that not every post on the internet has to be tailor-made for you. Not every conversation is one you can or should contribute to.
