The Trifid Nebula, also known as Messier 20 or NGC 6514, is a well-known star-forming region located about 9,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius.
The nebula gets its name from its distinctive appearance, which features three lobes of glowing gas separated by dark dust lanes.
It is an unusual combination of an emission nebula, a reflection nebula, and a dark nebula.

Thelymitra carnea (Pink Sun Orchids) just starting to flower near Genoa, VIC. Widespread orchid in AUS (+ NZ) - flowers usually only open on warm sunny days (but plenty of those around this year!). Just a handful of plants out at this location alongside spotted sun orchids (T. ixiodies).
