This was not the only time he's made comics critical of SUVs and large vehicles in general.
But this one has gone viral recently, and I like it the best, since it covers how they're only safer to those inside of them but unsafe to everyone else around them.
He's made quite a few stating that SUV drivers are compensating for... something... lacking...
Here's one example that I don't even think needs to be translated to get the point across lol.
But the translation is in the alt text regardless.
Comic by Martin Perscheid.
Translated text is my own.
Some people call it July 1st
I call it, get out the hydration backpack otherwise it will be impossible to survive outside without dying, day.
Cycling is for the masses.
Yes even many disabled people.
Mobility scooters can use bikeways also.
But the narrative of it being niche so you have to harden up and share the lane with automobiles hurt its appeal.
Which then reinforced the canard that it's a niche activity.
Which then allowed bike infrastructure to stay bad.
Why spend tax money on a niche activity?
The whole thing's a feedback loop.
Now that Ebikes are widely available and relatively affordable maybe that'll slowly change.
🤞🤞

Stan Kelly finally made a new cyclist comic.
Move over Commie Commuters, it's time for the Two Wheeled Terrors to rule the road!

My avatar is AI art but I do have a #pizza oven and do make it, both for myself and others, quite often.
Here's a margherita I did the other day.
Yes I have my own boxes.
Tried doing something in between NY and Neapolitan but still not sure if I was satisfied by the results.
Technically browned cheese is considered a defect for Neapolitan but people tend to like browned cheese so I often use low moisture whole milk mozzarella instead and aim for it.

I'm always conflicted about how to respond to bike helmet messaging.
Here in the states where we have bad infrastructure a helmet is a very good idea.
And one rated 5 stars by Virginia Tech is even better.
But pushing the importance of helmets too much gives a pass to bad infra, blames the victim for not wearing one even if they weren't at fault, and worst of all, implies that vehicle collisions are an acceptable part of bicycle riding.
They're not.

It's worth pointing out imo that a lot of modern American pro war propaganda will at first glance appear to be anti war.
It's not.
Instead of ignoring the horrors of war like in the past it partially recognizes them, but instead recasts them as the hero's burden, while focusing only on the American soldiers and reducing or even outright ignoring the damage done to the people living in the areas torn apart by the fighting.
