We must not use demands for Content Warnings, mental health, or cultural norms as ways of shutting down or silencing marginalized people who are joining as the bird site self-immolates.
Is there a lot of toxicity there? Yes.
Do BIPOC deserve to be heard in the fullness of their experiences? Yes.
There is no megacorp here to enforce a culture here. We must make it ourselves.
We have to do better now than we have in the past.

I've been experimenting with different clients, and I think I have it down to either the Mastodon app (the one just called Mastodon, from the folks behind the main server and codebase) or Tusky.
Generally I'm finding that the Mastodon app is much nicer, except I can't find a way to show image descriptions, whereas Tusky is a bit clunky, but shows them in a drawer at the bottom of the image view.
I don't want to boost posts without a description, so does anyone have fixes or recommendations?
Just moved over to [email protected] as it's a more #disability focused server.
It wasn't totally straightforward and I'd suggest using a desktop so you can download your follower list and import it to the new server. It should hopefully redirect all the followers I had on my old server before I moved.
