Celebrate the #publicdomain with us early as we premier #publicdomainday with a #newyearseve midnight film festival streamed from #internetarchive ! #primeproduce #nyc #mickeymouse

Join #primeproduce for our First Annual #newyearseve Shell Drop on W54th St! (And #publicdomainday midnight film festival to follow!)

Doors at 9pm, and a special viewing of last year's marquee public domain film, Metropolis, starting at 10pm.

The descent of our ceremonial illuminated Cosmic Turtle over W54th St will come as the clock strikes twelve, to be followed by a midnight festival of films from 1928 legally entering the public domain on Jan 1! #nyc @internetarchive #wikimedia

@corbden @accretionist @paul @wikipedia Groups of every conceivable brand of bad politics have been attempting this for 20+ years. It has survived the ill-will of various governments, corporations, and other vandals thanks to the resilience of a global volunteer community that indeed does not take it for granted. Wikipedia abides.
@Ratanashi @wikipedia Correct solution is to post the {{Globalize|2=US}} notice at the top of the article, or just fix it yourself.

This sounds good!

"We've partnered with the Wikimedia Foundation to adopt a tool called Flickr2Commons. We want to look after it and extend its features with the long term in mind. Keep your eyes open for "Flickypedia", which we plan to re-release towards the end of the year."

(Sorry, it was in an email, can't find an online link.)

@LucasWerkmeister @annierau Should we have some kind of safeguard around search box images? It's not really that unusual an occurrence.

Today I want to
take a minute to say how much I love and appreciate how @wikipedia has joined us on the Fediverse and is doing everything right.

RT by @WikiSignpost: The English @wikipedia lost one of its best contributors last month, and we at WikiNYC lost a friend and colleague. David Goodman (DGG) was one of the most patient and wise in our community, and we'll miss him greatly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2023-04-26/Obituary @WikiSignpost https://twitter.com/WikimediaNYC/status/1657724610043949062
