It’s time for a new beginning! I’ve set up my own single-user Misskey instance and now I’m moving to a new account: @phalio (https://mk.phal.io/@phalio). Vanilla Misskey does not yet support migrating accounts unlike Mastodon, so you will have to manually follow my new account if you want to see my future posts.

The same goes for my PeerTube account that I also moved to a different instance: @[email protected] (https://diode.zone/@phalio).

Phalio – Videos

Videos are optionally grouped into sub-accounts by topics, allowing you to only follow the ones you are interested in. If you are not viewing this via PeerTube, go to https://diode.zone/@phalio to see the sub-accounts. You can follow them via any Fediverse software like Mastodon, or RSS. Currently, I mostly make 8-bit covers, pixel art, tech stuff (mostly Linux and PinePhone+Keyboard), original Overwatch Developer Updates and Jeff Kaplan songs. All 8-bit songs are produced in 0CC-FamiTracker and pixel artworks are drawn in Aseprite. Video editing is done using DaVinci Resolve and FFmpeg. Are you interested in a #PinePhone keyboard #Sxmo battery indicator that does not display the phone as charging when only the keyboard battery is active but no USB charger connected, that displays an empty keyboard battery as 0% and/or that displays the keyboard battery as 200% to take into account that its capacity is twice as high compared to the phone battery? Then take a look at this: https://phal.io/tech/sxmo#pinephone-keyboard

#PPKB

My documentation of #PinePhone Keyboard Case usage and potential issues is finally done: https://phal.io/tech/pinephone-keyboard

It covers things like USB ports, power supplies, charging, pin connection, the top row issue, typing symbols, keys endlessly repeating symbols/modifiers, custom layouts and a lot more – you might even find out something new about issues you think you already know enough about.

while im (hopefully (but probably not since theres always a new challânge (ive been thinking "surely ill be done in a week" for over half a year))) within the last few days of doing ppkb stuff, i thought i might as well post this drawing i made months ago for my mums birthday. until ten years ago she occasionally physically painted physical paintings on physical canvases (sounds like witchcraft) for a few years, usually extreme close-ups of plants as she loves them and is an expert in that area. so i thought i might try drawing something like that for her too. some pretty green leaves with a happy little birb friend who lives among them and sings happy little songs about spring, freedom, life and friendship to its happy little birb friends. like you!

i just updated my #pinephone #modem firmware on arch sxmo from the preinstalled quectel v1 to the most recent one and then to the open one. i was very worried about it being difficult and potentially bricking my modem due to the things ive read here and there over the last months, but it was extremely simple and fast (even without gnome-firmware) (although that looks like the timestamp error mentioned on the release page). just a handful of simple commands (see https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Pine64-Arch/wiki/Upgrade-the-modem-firmware and https://github.com/the-modem-distro/pinephone_modem_sdk/blob/kirkstone/docs/FLASHING.md): (1/2)

the ppkb userspace inputd is finally working again after months! although maybe its good that it was broken, otherwise i might have never had megi tell me to modify the kernel driver instead which among other things led to me figuring out how to remove its slightly bugged fn layer handling to get the keyboard to work as well as possible and to me figuring out how to compile and install a modified linux kernel and what kernel modules are. ill continue using my modified kernel driver but for others the simpler to install userspace inputd is a good option to have.
