Quick survey: who drank coffee when they were a child?
I can't remember exactly how young I was, but having a cup of instant coffee (the only coffee, in the 1970s) with dinner, seemed perfectly normal when I was, what, 10 years old?
It was normal back then, in the UK, right?
So much so that I remember being shocked at an American sitcom (Roseanne, poss?) In the 90s in white it was made obvious that giving coffee to American kids was tantamount to child abuse...
