@amazingmap This graphic exaggerates the reality on the ground, because lots of areas which in US metros are technically close-in suburbs (separate municipalities) are, in London, part of the central municipality.
So comparing metro (urban+suburban) populations would be more of an apples to apples comparison. For London that total is just under 15 million. Just a pair of the US metros referenced in this map would match or exceed that total.
