DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa teenagers could work more jobs and for longer hours under a bill signed into law Friday by Gov. Kim Reynolds. The Republican governor signed the law after it was approved by the Legislature earlier in May with only Republican support.
Back when Raquel Vélez was my boss at npm, inc., she had a name for when somebody would give you an ill-defined task and then would get upset when you didn't do it "right."
She called it "Bring me a rock." When I asked her what that meant, she would say "Bring me a rock... no, not that one." It was a pretty clear example.
She recognized quickly that I hate, with all of me, "Bring me a rock." It's the least good game.

@carlottagall is NYT Sr. Correspondent Carlotta Gall, reporting from Ukraine.
@bungdan is long time war reporter Dan Murphy.
@GeromanAT is a Russian propagandist who promotes Wagner group, spreads LGBTQ hate, and promotes conspiracy theories.
After April 15, only one of these will appear in the default Twitter feed. Guess which one. ……
Huh. Just had a glimpse of how the mods on my instance keep an eye on tricky exchanges on here.
Yesterday, I got in a mild tussle in a thread. Today, a mod reached out to me to let me know they'd noticed and had taken some proactive steps.
Huh. That's...different.
