You really don't want to be using Hive social.

⚠️ Warning: do not use Hive Social 👉🐝👈

Dieser Artikel ist auch auf deutsch erschienen. Update: The vulnerabilities are currently no longer exploitable because Hive deactivated their servers. More details Following the Twitter takeover, a number of services promising to be an alternative gained traction. One of those is “Hive Social”, which reached more than a million users in the last weeks. Of course, we were interested and took a look at Hive from a security standpoint. We found a number of critical vulnerabilities, which we confidentially reported to the company. After multiple attempts to contact the company we finally reached them by phone and they acknowledged the report. After multiple days and multiple reminders by us, they claimed to fix them within the next two days. However after those two days, multiple vulnerabilities we reported were not fixed and still existed at the time of writing. ⚠️ We strongly advise against using Hive in any form in the current state.

The world ends tomorrow, your friends are imprisoned and those responsible for both have stolen the future. The time for deliberation is over. It is time to be reckless, irresponsible and beautiful.

Putting the finishing touches on a short, web-playable Redlander demo. Super excited to finally share it soon!

Currently reading "Writing for games theory and practice" by Hannah Ricklin. It's really good. It doesn't just dive into plot but talks about the realities of game writing and processes. Recommended to non narrative devs too as I think it explains the job wonderfully. So much of the job can be explaining what it is.
There's even a section recommending what functionality your tools need.

Writing for Games: Theory and Practice

Focussing on the independent videogames sector, this book provides readers with a vocabulary to articulate and build their games writing practice; whether studying games or coming to games from another storytelling discipline. Writing for Games offers resources for communication, collaboration, reflection, and advocacy, inviting the reader to situate their practice in a centuries-long heritage of storytelling, as well as considering the material affordances of videogames, and the practical reali

As part of the Indiepocalypse Pledge Drive this year, I'm attempting to put on one of your Video Game Showcases, but on that highlights the grimiest, messiest, unfunded, unmarketable, yet downright unmissable games the medium has to offer.

I've hastily (and tentatively) title it The Sicko Showcase and submissions are open to any game really.

The Sicko Showcase Submission

During the 2nd Annual Indiepocalypse Pledge Drive, a portion of the show will be dedicated to the showcasing games completely outside of Indiepocalypse in the (prototype??) Sicko Showcase. Eschewing all traditional marketing wisdom, the Sicko Showcase will focus on the grimiest, messiest, unfunded, unmarketable, and downright unmissable games the medium has to offer. Like everything else I do, if I can't get into showcases I'll just make my own!
