I’ve been doing some really awesome research for my placement - reviewing how HRT interacts with drugs and alcohol use, and how trans and gender diverse folks may want to adapt use for harm minimisation.
Really hype because Friday is my first day presenting findings to some trans and NB peers who’ve gone through AOD rehab / recovery / safe use for community feedback.
As much as I look forward to being able to share my work more widely, to communicate with practitioners and all that, I look forward to peer feedback the most.

Roj 🏳️🌈Folks have mentioned that Twitter is an extremely important space for sharing #protest news across the world and as a result we should keep preserving it despite the takeover.
I get it, I am #Iranian, I have relied heavily on twitter for news sharing re protests in #Iran over the years.
But what you are missing is that those same activists and protesters are MOST vulnerable to the new Twitter regime. Misinformation campaigns will be easy, and #Putin/#China/Islamic republic will use it.
Have been totally exhausted with my placement. Like it’s been kicking my ass so hard, this morning I was really seriously considering quitting.
But I just had a really good supervisor meeting, and I think I can tough it out. I am nearly half way there. Just 260 hours to go.
I wish I didn’t have to do 1000 hours of unpaid labour to get accredited as a social worker (it’s 2 x 500 hour placements). It’s so hard. Especially so when you’re someone that is a part-timer due to disability.
